just a few things I’ve been up to lately……

So pretty much the whole 3rd period of game 6 of the Stanley Cup playoffs I was pacing the floor and periodically screaming at the tv. I was so nervous and so excited and couldn’t contain myself. Elvira ktitypants had enough of my shenanigans and was hiding upstairs. Nero was on the couch taking his evening/night time nap and left as soon as we won and I was jumping up and down screaming and running around the house. Yes, I’m that kind of fan. During the game I was also reminiscing about how I was bartending 7 yrs ago during our last Stanley Cup championship and it was on of the busiest nights our bar has ever seen. I was bartending by myself the whole night and didn’t see much of the game until the last 2 minutes when everyone just stopped and held their breath and BOOM! We won. I jumped and screamed just the same as this past sunday. Except that night 7 years ago I also ran around the inside of the bar and high fived every person sitting around the bar. It was awesome. It was also awesome on sunday, just me and Mikey watching the game and I could scream and swear and hide around the corner with my fingers crossed saying “oh please, oh please, oh please let the pens win tonight!” And they did. And Mikey surprised me the next day and bought me TWO Pens Stanley Cup shirts and I love them! And I love him. Awww sappy stuff. Haha.
So I went to an “I do BBQ” over the weekend. My girl Madisyn’s version of a bridal shower and let me tell you, it was the best bridal shower I ever went to. Apparently the “I do bbq” are what all the cool kids are doing. It’s all over Pinterest and Etsy. It’s a couples shower. Kids are invited also. And instead of playing regular old shower games, Madisyn had a relay slip n slide flip cup game. Now that’s my kind of bridal shower. I didn’t participate though because I was driving and I was in a dress. I do have limits you know. But Trixie has no excuse. She wasn’t driving and was wearing a romper. She just didn’t feel like pulling out her party tricks that day I guess.
TV talk- Game of Thrones!! I can’t take it. I think there’s only 2 more episodes left. WTF??!! It’s just so good this season, I can’t stand it. Like for real. Watch it!!! Some trainwreck tv shows I’m watching at 2am when I can’t fall asleep-arranged, teenage newlyweds, famously single, marriage boot camp reality stars “tarando”, HALP ME!!!!!
I had 2 really weird episodes of deja vu recently. I forget the first, but the second was when I was in a doctor’s office and heard the song “Cruel Summer” and saw a “Better Homes and Gardens” magazine sitting on a table. The song “cruel summer” gets me everytime and I’m not sure why. You know that song by Banarama right? It came out the year my boyfriend was born. Hahahahahahahah! Yeah. I think it was the Better Homes and Gardens magazine. I remember reading it all the time like 15 years ago and it somehow invoked this weird memory in me when I saw it on the table.
