mudslide coffee

Just a little something to warm you up on a cold winter’s day…

We were reminiscing about our trip to mexico we took almost 3 years ago. Just about every single day we had a few mudslides while sunning on the beach and by the pool. This was after a very large, absolutely delicious breakfast. But usually before lunch which was a giant juicy cheeseburger and some chips with guac and pico de gallo. After our approximately 3 mile walk on the beach. So yes throw in a few mudslides in the afternoon and we probably gained about 5 pounds each. That’s what vacations are for right?

Since we are not going anywhere warm this winter, I figure I would turn a frozen mudslide drink into a hot one. It’s quite tasty and the coffee flavor gives it a little twist. If you don’t want the whipped cream, I recommend dipping the rim of your coffee cup in chocolate syrup. That little bit of chocolate elevates the taste of the mudslide just like the frozen kind.

Not to be boring and talk about the weather, but we have been having some crazy January weather around my neck of the woods. One day it’s 2 degrees and 5 days later it’s 55 degrees. Everyone I know is sick or was sick. I’ve only been fighting a runny nose thank god. Today it’s about 40 degrees so it’s still cold enough to warm up with this coffee…

Mudslide coffee
3/4 cup of hot coffee
1/2 oz vodka
1 oz irish cream liquer
1 oz coffee liquer
1 oz milk, optional (I didn’t use it but you can if you like your coffee creamier)
whipped cream and chocolate syrup, optional
Place all 3 shots in your coffee and stir. Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup or dip the rim of your coffee cup in chocolate syrup.

I still wish I was sitting on the beach sipping a frozen mudslide but this coffee one will have to do for now.
