I’m trying to keep it healthy in 2016. Especially with it now being all cold and winter and dark and depressing. So I’ve been making sure to hit the gym hard and consistently. And to try and eat better too. Last weekend I was watching some Food Network and Giada made a banana walnut smoothie that looked really good. So it inspired me to make this banana walnut protein shake which I had after a serious butt kicking workout at the gym the other day. Boy did it hit the spot. Giada used dates and coconut water in her smoothie. I used protein powder and even threw in some peanutbutter.

Banana walnut protein shake
1/2 banana
1 cup almond milk
1 Tbl peanut butter
1 Tbl walnuts, chopped
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Place all ingredients in a blender with 1 cup ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy! Garnish with chopped walnuts optional to make it look pretty.
